Pupil Premium Grants

The school receives funding from central Government via a number of streams. One of these is known as the Pupil Premium Grant and it is available for young people eligible for free school meals, looked after or previously looked after children and those who have one or more parents serving in the armed forces. This grant enables us to support Berkswell families in a range of ways beyond simply providing free school meals.

With the introduction of Universal Free School Meals in Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage, it has become apparent that not all parents who may be eligible have made an application for free school meals, which in turn generates the pupil premium funding to the school.

In order to ensure that the appropriate applications are made, we would be most grateful if  families would take the time to consider the online form below.

If eligible, your child does not have to take a free school meal but may benefit in other ways such as support for school trips; extra classroom support; school uniform; out of school clubs etc.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the office. In the meantime, may I take this opportunity to thank you for your support in securing the maximum funding for our school.
